It's the TIME of the year again!!!

The annual Recruits Induction Camp was held from 23rd Jan 9am to 24th Jan 11am in the school. The purpose of this camp is to introduce the recruits to Scouting. This year we recruited almost 40 cubs and there are 6 Primary Ones!!!!!!!But sad to say, only 3 girls recruit. We were hoping for more girls to join.

By 9am, the Kidzone was filled with cubs and parents. Some cubs and parents came as early as 8am!

At 9am, the recruits gathered. Akela started to take attendence. Raksha and Haathi helped to collect the camp fees. After comfirming the number of recruits, Akela divided the recruits into groups.

A Sixer and an Assitant Sixer was assigned to each group. They are supposed to take care of the recruits.

Akela started the day's program by telling the recruits a story - THE JUNGLE BOOK. Akela also told the recruits the story about the left hand shake.

On the other side of the KidZone, Baloo and the service cub scouts were busy preparing for the skit to be performed at the campfire.

Next... Gray Wolf took over. Gray Wolf taught basic foot drill - Sedia and Senang Diri.

After foot drill, it was time to SING!!!! Baloo, Bagheera and Chien Kai led the recruits in campfire songs. Some of the songs were familiar while others were new to the recruits.

By now, a number of recruits were tired and hungry. Time to serve lunch.

During lunch, Kelly (one of the youngest girl recruit) asked the leaders whether she could take a nap. This camp is really a challenge for the Primary Ones!
After lunch, the recruits had time to interact in their group.

Next, the recruits learnt the Scout salute.

Baloo shared with the recruits the history of Scouting and what Scouting was all about, while Bagheera taught the recruits about the Scout Promise.

Next, time for games!

After the games, the recruits were all tired and hungry. But the recruits had to cook their own dinner. Akela demostated how to cook instant noodles. Recruits got busy boiling water in their mess tin, under the watchful eye of the adult leaders and brother Scouts from Eagle Scout Group.

After dinner, the recruits cleaned up the place and got ready for the campfire.
